Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and Skouted when you use the platform. They cover who can use Skouted, how organization listings work, your safety off the platform, and the limits of our responsibility. Please read them carefully.
Last updated: June 26, 2026
The short version
- • Skouted is a discovery platform — we connect you to opportunities; we are not the employer.
- • We do not guarantee that any listing or organization is legitimate. Verify before you commit.
- • Anything that happens at an in-person opportunity is between you and that organization.
- • If you're under 18, a parent or guardian must approve your use and accept these terms with you.
- • There are no private DMs — organizations have a group chat visible to all their members.

Acceptance & eligibility
By creating an account or using Skouted, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the platform.
You must be at least 14 years old. Skouted is built for students and recent grads aged 14–19. It is not available to anyone under 14. You agree that the information you give us — including your date of birth — is accurate.
/ 02
Users under 18 & parental consent
In most places, people under 18 cannot enter into binding contracts on their own. If you are under 18, you may use Skouted only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian, who must review and accept these terms on your behalf. By using Skouted as a minor, you confirm that a parent or guardian has done so.
A parent or guardian who consents to a minor's use agrees that they:
- Accept these terms and our Privacy Policy on the minor's behalf;
- Are responsible for supervising the minor's use of the platform; and
- Are responsible for vetting and supervising any opportunity the minor pursues, especially in person.
A parent or guardian can review, correct, or delete their child's information, or withdraw consent, at any time — see the Privacy Policy. If we learn a user is under 14, or that a minor is using Skouted without guardian consent where required, we may suspend or remove the account.

What Skouted is — and isn't
Skouted is a discovery and listing platform. We help students find internships, programs, and opportunities posted by organizations, and we help organizations be found.
Skouted is not an employer, recruiter, staffing agency, talent broker, school, or background-check provider. We are not a party to any application, offer, internship, employment, or other arrangement between you and an organization. Any such relationship is solely between you (and, for minors, your guardian) and that organization.
/ 04
Organizations, listings & scams
Organizations create their own profiles and listings. We do not author, and we cannot guarantee the accuracy, legitimacy, legality, or safety of, any listing or organization. We verify organizations before their listings go live to the public and before they can view applicant profiles, but verification is a basic check — it is not a guarantee, endorsement, or warranty about an organization, its people, or any opportunity it posts.
You are responsible for your own due diligence. Before you apply to, accept, pay anything for, or attend any opportunity, independently confirm that the organization and the opportunity are real and appropriate. As a rule of thumb, a legitimate internship does not ask you to pay fees, send money, share financial or government-ID details, or do work before any verification.
We are not liable for fraudulent, fake, scam, misleading, or otherwise harmful listings or organizations, or for any loss that results from them. If you encounter a listing or organization that seems fake, deceptive, or unsafe, report it to yuvrajsarda9@gmail.com and we'll review it. We may remove listings or organizations at our discretion, but we're not obligated to monitor every listing.
/ 05
Off-platform & physical safety
Internships and opportunities found through Skouted happen off the platform, often in person and at locations and organizations we do not operate, control, supervise, or inspect.
Skouted does not screen, background-check, supervise, or vouch for the safety of any physical environment, person, or organization you encounter through the platform. We are not responsible or liable for the conduct — online or offline — of any organization, employee, volunteer, or other user, including any unsafe, harmful, abusive, predatory, or unlawful conduct, and including anything that happens at a physical location associated with an opportunity.
You — and, for minors, your parent or guardian — are responsible for taking ordinary safety precautions: verify the organization, meet in public or supervised settings where appropriate, tell a trusted adult where you're going, and never share sensitive personal or financial information. If you ever feel unsafe or witness something illegal, contact local authorities first, then let us know.
/ 06
Your conduct & content
You agree not to:
- Provide false information, impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your age or identity;
- Post unlawful, harmful, harassing, hateful, or sexually explicit content;
- Use Skouted to exploit, endanger, solicit, or attempt to contact minors off-platform for unsafe purposes;
- Scrape, harvest, or attempt to access data you're not authorized to see;
- Post fake listings or use the platform to defraud others; or
- Break any applicable law.
You keep ownership of the content you submit, but you grant Skouted a limited license to host and display it as needed to operate the service. You're responsible for what you post.
/ 07
No private messaging
Skouted has no private one-to-one direct messaging. The only communication channel is an organization group chat, which is visible to every member of that organization — there are no hidden or private conversations. This is a deliberate safety choice: group visibility and the absence of private DMs reduce the risk of grooming, harassment, and off-platform solicitation.
Messages are attributable to real member profiles, and an organization's founder can delete any message in their org's chat. Do not use the group chat to solicit minors, move conversations off-platform, share private contact details with minors, or post harmful, harassing, or unlawful content. We may remove content or accounts that break these rules.
/ 08
Disclaimer of warranties
Skouted is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any listing, organization, or opportunity will meet your expectations.
/ 09
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Skouted and its developer will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, opportunities, earnings, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the platform, any listing or organization, or any interaction or event that occurs off the platform.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the platform will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD $100.
Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, and nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including, where applicable, protections that cannot be waived on behalf of a minor. In those cases, the limitations apply only to the extent permitted.
/ 10
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Skouted and its developer from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the platform, your violation of these terms, your content, or your interactions with organizations or other users. For minors, this obligation rests with the consenting parent or guardian to the extent permitted by law.
/ 11
Termination
You can stop using Skouted and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms, create risk for other users (especially minors), or use the platform unlawfully. Provisions that by their nature should survive — such as disclaimers, liability limits, and indemnification — survive termination.
/ 12
Governing law & disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer operates, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, except where the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your home jurisdiction apply. You agree to first try to resolve any dispute with us informally by contacting us. This section does not deprive a consumer or minor of any protection guaranteed by laws that cannot be contractually overridden.
/ 13
Changes
We may update these terms as the platform evolves. If we make a material change, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, give notice. Continuing to use Skouted after a change means you accept the updated terms.
